RVillage.com Site for Metropolitan Members

Family Motor Coach Association

Dear Chapter Member:

Today we are very excited to share a new communication tool that we feel will greatly enhance the unique RV lifestyle of FMCA members.

RVillage.com is a FREE online social network created exclusively for the RVing community. The site allows you to interact with fellow RVers online, but more importantly, it makes it very easy to connect with others in person.

Her are just a few of the wonderful features RVillage provides for chapter members:
  • Mapping tools - You can find out where your fellow FMCA members are currently located by pinpointing them on a map. This tool makes it so easy to find your friends, or make new ones!
  • Get-Togethers - Learn about upcoming FMCA events. You can also create your own get-togethers and send out invites through RVillage.
  • Groups - RVillage has over 1,300 groups. ALL of the FMCA Chapters are represented, and each one has its own group.
  • Blogs - RVillage has a built-in blogging platform. All members are welcome to create their own!
We have been impressed with this site and the potential it brings for strengthening our FMCA family bonds. To learn more, please take a moment to watch the short video below; it’s packed with great info. It will walk you through the sign-up process, how to add the FMCA badge to your profile, and how to find and join your FMCA Chapter groups. RVillage also has a mobile version, but to set up your account you need to join RVillage from your desktop or laptop. Pause and rewind the video as often as you need, and open www.RVillage.com in a new window to get started.

If you need assistance in signing up for your account or navigating the RVillage website, please send an email to support@rvillage.com and their support team will help you right away.

To find out more about RVillage, and why we have become such big fans, please see  the June issue of Family Motor Coaching magazine.

NEAR Rally Info

PLEASE FORWARD THIS INFORMATION TO ALL OF YOUR CHAPTER MEMBERS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

I know you haven't received any updates in a while.  We are in the home stretch of getting everything ready for the Rally to begin on July 9.  You can still register for the rally up until Tuesday, June 30 through home office.  Your packet will be waiting for you in Will Call when you arrive at Essex Junction.   After that date you will need to register on site at Essex Junction.  Let them know when you arrive that you need to register and they will assist you with that.    Don't forget we welcome all types of units, fifth wheel, tow behind, etc.  You do not have to be a member of FMCA to attend.  So, bring your friends for a great time.

For those that plan on attending:

  *  If you purchased tickets for the Dinner Cruise and/or Pig Roast you will pick up your tickets at the registration desk when you hand in your locator card.

  * If you are part of a caravan please make sure everyone has a placard in their window showing name and # in caravan:  for example -
SMITH 1 OF 10, SMITH 2 OF 10, SMITH 3 OF 10, etc.  You may have to wait in the HOLDING area for everyone in your group to arrive; once your entire group has arrived our parking crew will do their best to get you parked as quickly as possible.  Please be patient when arriving at the gate, and follow the directions given to you by our volunteer crews.

 * IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOUR CREDENTIALS BE VISIBLE IN THE LOWER LEFT-HAND CORNER OF THE PASSENGER WINDSHEILD BY THE TIME YOU ARRIVE AT THE GATE.  THEY MUST BE DISPLAYED AND VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES DURING THE RALLY.

 * Don't forget to bring a toy for the Marine Toys for Tots and a stuffed animal for the local Emergency Corps.

Our business meeting will be held on Saturday, check your program book for time and place.  We will be installing 2 new officers and saying goodbye to 2 VPs.  All are welcome to attend this meeting.  Your National Director and President (or Alternate Delegates) are especially encouraged to attend for voting purposes.  This is your way to see what is being done in the area and be heard if you have any concerns.   We want everyone to feel welcome at this meeting.

This is the last email I will be sending until after the rally.  I hope to see a great turnout this year and I look forward to meeting everybody.  Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself to the Executive Board members when you see us wandering the grounds.  We encourage you to ask questions as that is why we are here.  We hope everyone has a great time at "The Junction".

SEE YOU THERE...........and please travel safe!

June Campout at Brook N Wood

The June Campout at Brook N Wood Campground and the Luncheon at the Culinary Institute of America was fantastic!  Although only four (4) rigs were able to attend, a great time was had by all.
Friday evening, Pat and Mo Magliocchino hosted a wonderful Hot Dog and fantastic homemade chili meal with all the fixin's.  As usual, they out did themselves.  Friday evening was a chance to sit by the fire, relax and catch up with one another.  Later in the evening everyone headed to George and Marissa Hicks motorhome for some Mexican Train, drinks and conversation.

Saturday morning was a Bagel and Donut Breakfast and then a trip to The Culinary Institute of America for the Bocuse French Restaurant for Lunch. The menu selections were to say the least different.  It was an experience I will never forget.  The Institute's students both prepared the meals and the ready-to-graduate students were the serving staff.  They were graded by their instructors on how well they performed.  We were fortunate enough to be able to go into the kitchen and watch the student chefs working.  What a beautiful place!

Saturday evening we again gathered for some light snacks and later another campfire.  It was a truly memorable day.

Sunday, half the group decided to make a day trip to the town of Hudson, NY and the other half headed home.  A Great Time!

Below are some pictures from this Campout:
